Caring for your pieces
Last updated 1 October 2026
Handmade things love a little care. A few small habits will keep your Vlyomi pieces looking the way they did the day they arrived.
Jewellery
- Last on, first off. Put jewellery on after perfume, lotion and hairspray, and take it off before washing, bathing, swimming or exercising.
- Keep it dry. Water and sweat can dull plating and loosen knots. If it gets wet, pat it dry straight away.
- Store separately. Keep each piece in its pouch or a lined box so it doesn’t scratch or tangle with others.
- Clean gently. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid chemical cleaners and ultrasonic machines.
- Beads and pearls. Don’t hang strung pieces for long periods — lay them flat so the thread doesn’t stretch.
Phone & bag charms
- Charms take knocks every day. Check the clasp or loop now and then, and tighten if it feels loose.
- Avoid tugging the charm to pull your phone or bag — hold the item itself.
- Keep away from long direct sunlight, which can fade some beads and threads.
Fridge magnets
- Clay and resin pieces are sturdy but not unbreakable — avoid dropping them on hard floors.
- Wipe with a dry or very slightly damp cloth. Don’t soak them.
- Keep magnets away from cards, pacemakers and electronics, and out of reach of small children and pets — magnets and small parts can be dangerous if swallowed.
